Welcome, my name is Ronnie and I am the owner of Yocom, your dome away from home.  I grew up on the coast of Mississippi in Ocean Springs. I enjoy fishing, biking, doing artwork and spending time with friends and family.  After high school I moved to Hattiesburg to attend the University of Southern Mississippi.  While going to school full time I started a window tinting business that I still have today.  After I graduated, I began purchasing distressed properties and remodeling them for rental properties.  It didn’t take long for me to discover my passion for the construction side of things.  My wife, Melissa and I would escape to Red Creek whenever life got too busy.  Every time we canoed past the dome I would say “I wonder what that looks like inside?” or “How in the world did he build that?”

 

I met Brad Yocom, who built the dome, in 2005, after purchasing the adjoining property.  The first thing I asked him “is that as energy efficient as it looks?”  He smiled and said “You can heat it with a candle and cool it with an ice cube.”  We got to know Brad and his wife Jeannie over the years and when they flirted with the idea of selling we were so excited they gave us the first opportunity.    Our vision was to turn this one-of-a-kind Geodesic dome into an unforgettable vacation destination.
